Youghal town is bypassed just of the N25 , with Cork Waterford bus stopping in the town. The train comes as far as Midleton in East Cork so for a days shopping in the City take the train from Midleton to the city ( 25 minute trip) and remove the hassle of finding parking in the City . Youghal has a swimming pool & sports complex at Claycastle, greyhound racing Tuesday & Friday nights, various festivals though out the year. Traditional music at Ceoil na Sí or take a Wednesday evening trip out to Lismore and head for the Booley House in Ballyduff ( July & August only pre-booking necessary). Jameson Whiskey Distillery in Midleton runs daily tours. There are abundant fine restaurants in the East Cork area from Aherns & Tides and the Red Store in the town to Ballymaloe at Shanagarry. The Kingfisher apartment is a privately owned apartment in the Harveys Waterfront Complex The two bedroom sleep four ( a double bed in the first bedroom , two singles in the second). There is an enclosed courtyard for car parking one car only, accessible through two electronically controlled gates. There are 15 golf courses within a thirty mile radius, which makes Kingfisher Youghal an ideal place to base yourselves for a weeks golfing or touring of the South Coast of Ireland. The golf course in Youghal is par 70 and Fota ( Murphy's Irish Open 2001/2002) is twenty five minutes down the road. |
